Payment Policy
Family Dental Care operate a fair payment system for both NHS and private treatments whereby we request and reserve the right to seek payment in advance of appointment attendance i.e. at the time of booking to secure appointments with the exception of a Band 1 NHS fee which is to be paid at the time of appointment attendance where patients do not qualify for exemption status under NHS guidance rules.
Payment required at the time of booking appointments are as follows:
NHS Band 2 payments are to be made in full at time of booking the appointment. For Band 3 charges a deposit is required at the time of booking the appointment and further payments will be required during the course of the treatment with the remainder balance to be settled no later than the final appointment of the course.
Deposits relating to private treatment courses are variable and start at £50.00 dependent upon the full cost of each private item of treatment.
Payments toward the cost of each item of treatment to be made thereafter during each appointment alternatively the full cost of treatment can be paid in advance.
Remainder balance to be settled no later than the final appointment of each individually completed treatment.
Certain private treatment courses may also have their own detailed set out payment plans which will vary.
Hygienist appointments are to be paid in full at the time of booking and are non-refundable unless 24 hours working day notice is given.
All private deposits/payments are subject to loss should a patient miss or cancel their appointment late and not adhere to the 24 hour working day notice practice cancellation policy i.e. All patients to cancel before their appointment time the working day before and /or to cancel before their appointment time on the last working day before i.e. Friday if the appointment is booked on a Monday.
Patients are informed of treatment costs relating to NHS and private courses as well as the expected deposit amount relating to private treatment during the discussion of the course of treatment by the Dental Surgeon.
Reception Desk staff inform patients when booking individual appointments of the required deposit/amount to be paid for each course of both NHS and private treatment and will inform patients of the risk of loss of payment relating to private treatment only should patients not adhere to the practice cancellation policy.
